Dissolvaballs recently headed out to a brand new lake in Essex, a fenced off, private booking only lake with heated cabins and tv's! Read how we got on and what products proved successful on our trip...

The Lake
So, we were recently invited down to fish Creedence fishery in Dagenham, London UK. The lake itself was dug/created in 1922 and opened as a fishery in 2020. The fishery boasts a stunning 2 acre Carp Lake, stocked with carp up to 37lbs, a handful of other 30lb fish and some fast growers to back them up.

When arriving on the complex, it really did feel like a safe zone away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. Leading up the track to the lake, the city falls away and you are greeted with the sight of trees and greenery peeling away until you reach the Turquoise lagoon. A high security fence surrounding the perimeter along with a fully locked gate ensure you feel safe once onsite. Security isn't taken lightly, however you are able to leave freely to collect food or in the case of emergencies as there is always at least one member of staff on site with a key for the gate (mobile number can be found on a list in the cabin's).

The Cabin's
We were really impressed with the facilities onsite! The cabins themselves boast fully insulated interior walls, along with an electric heater with an adjustable temperature gauge to keep you toasty through every month of the year. We fished in swim 2 which is a single swim, as is swim 1 & 4, however swim 3 is a double enabling 5 people in total to fish the lake at any given time.
In the cabin you also have access to a 27" Smart TV with Freeview, a convenient side table, free WiFi and electric/USB sockets for all of your charging needs. A handy side table is located on the side of every cabin for easy storage of bait off the deck. A Large Carp landing net, an unhooking mat & weigh slings are all included.
That being said, all you need to bring with you on site is your rods, pod, tackle & bed chair. No heavy bivvy, no heavy carp care accessories and all made even easier by the convenience of drive up swims!

The Bait
Whilst fishing at Creedence Fishery, Danny Anderson was fishing in the swim next door, peg 1. Danny had a red letter trip hooking 11 fish in total and landing 9! Including 8 in their mid 20's & the biggest being a few ounces over 30lb! Danny confessed 'My fishing trip wouldn't have been as successful without the use of the DISSOLVABALLS Raspberry PVA Dunk Pot. I doused the liquid all over my Mainline cell Boilies (18mm) for feeding, all over my bait boat mix and also glugged my Sticky baits peach and pepper pop-ups in it. the fish couldn't get enough of it! I was using a curve shank, Korda size 4 and was hooking every fish clean in the bottom lip'.
The lake only allows a pellet and boilie approach to promote the growth of their fish. This is certainly proving the case. Danny fished a bed of large pellets and large Boilies which clearly had the carp switched on. He swapped between a snow man rig and a single pink pop-up to keep his catches coming. It seems like the Raspberry Dunk Pot, encasing the flavours with the sweet, nectar like smell proved rewarding on this trip.

The Carp that have been stocked in this lake are second to none and are really something to admire. The rich colours and the apple slice scales are enough to send any angler to dust off their rods and get booked on.

The Fish

Bailiff Focus
We caught up with head bailiff Danny and asked him a few questions...
How long have you been a bailiff?
Been head bailiff since 1995 on the bardag club lake and then 2006 we took over the chase and have been looking after the whole complex for 27 years
Funniest thing you’ve seen on the bank?
Someone used a grow tent as a Bivvy (still got the picture to prove it)
Things that get on your nerves that anglers do?
Rubbish is a pet hate of mine,I dislike people who chuck fag butts and lids from beer bottles on the floor!
Favourite bait?
I’ve always been a massive fan/user of mainline baits
Favourite rig?
The trusty old Ronnie rig, devastating in the winter
Pb?
My Uk PB is 42.4lb (Buster From the Dell)
What motivates you at your fishery?
My motivation is the challenge and meeting new anglers. The best thing is watching the fish get bigger. It feels like a massive achievement when your fish start pushing through the 30 & 40lb mark.
We really enjoyed our time on the lake and would highly recommend this lake to anybody. Amazing value for money and thank you again to Danny for inviting us down to fish this incredible hidden gem!
